George Michael Malouf was born in Zaphlih, Lebanon in 1878. He arrived in Sydney in 1887 with his parents and sister. He later started a drapery business in Dean Street, Albury, NSW.

George Malouf married Mary nee Deep (1900-1979) who was born in Kousba, Lebanon. Mary Deep had come out with her parents when she was less than 1 year-old. George Malouf died in 1971 and was survived by his wife and three sons (Eric, Keith, Ken) and daughter, the late Sylvia who married Stan Mallick.
