It is a special meeting to share our experiences/reflections about how being of Lebanese descent has influenced our lives. \n\n\n\nThese reflections/stories may be in whatever form you choose: prose or poetry. It can be one sentence, a paragraph, a longer piece or even a sound recording. You might write about a person, an event, an object, a special memory, a smell, a taste, a tree, or personal experiences.\n\n\n\nIf you are unable to attend the meeting, you are invited to submit your piece via email to Anne Monsour at annemonsourqld@gmail.com ( mailto:annemonsourqld@gmail.com )  or monsvarg@optusnet.com.au ( mailto:monsvarg@optusnet.com.au )\n\n\n\nThe focus question:\n\n\n\nHow has being of Lebanese descent influenced your life?\n\n\n\nSome points/questions to consider\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat is your Lebanese heritage?\n\n\n\nHow far back is your connection to Lebanon?\n\n\n\nWere you, your parents, grandparents, or great grandparents born in Syria/Lebanon?\n\n\n\nWhen did you first realize you were of Lebanese background?\n\n\n\nWhat was Lebanese about your childhood and upbringing?\n\n\n\nWhen do/did you feel Lebanese?\n\n\n\nIs there something you do/like/think/feel that is particularly Lebanese?\n\n\n\nHave you ever felt you are not Lebanese enough?\n\n\n\nHave you ever felt you are not Australian enough?\n\n\n\nWhat about language – Arabic, English? What does it feel like not understanding what is being said?\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe look forward to your responses and hope many of you will participate.\n\n\n\n\n
