ALHS Walking Tour – 29 April 2023

‘A Continuous Thread – the Lebanese presence in West End and South Brisbane’

Join the Australian Lebanese Historical Society (ALHS) and historian and author Dr Anne Monsour for a walking tour of West End and South Brisbane highlighting the Lebanese presence, influence, and legacy since the 1880s.

This fascinating walk uncovers stories of the ‘Syrian’ hawkers and shopkeepers of the nineteenth century through the twentieth century to the present day, highlighting stories of entrepreneurs, hard work, community spirit and family businesses many of which are household names in Brisbane.
