We are infinite: Ancestral remembrance and creative practice
What memories do our bodies and spirits carry and remember from our ancestors? What are we able to learn about our culture, ancestors and ourselves when we take the time to listening deeply?
Join Kfarsghabi, Lebanese artists Nicole Barakat as she shares her practice as a contemporary artist working with textiles and ancestral remembrance to mark time. Hear her speak of her recent residency at the Citè Internationale des Arts in Paris where she spent time convening with a 300-year-old Lebanese cedar tree.
Nicole works with deep listening and intuitive processes with intentions to transform the conditions of everyday life. Her artwork engages unconventional approaches to art-making, creating intricate works that embody the love and patience characteristic of traditional textile practices.
